Musing Mondays-Apr23

Musing Mondays is a weekly event where MizB from Should Be Reading will ask a book/reading related question, and you answer with your own thoughts on the topic.

This week's Musing Monday asks:
Other than working at a job, what is your biggest interruption to reading? What takes you away from your books?

I don't technically have a 'job' because I am a stay-at-home mom. But if you ask me, that's one of the biggest jobs out there! I have 3 little ones, the oldest turns 5  in 5 more days and my youngest is 2. So life is pretty busy around here! That's definitely where the majority of my time goes. I'm left with little time for hobbies. So playing Mommy is definitely what takes away from most of my reading time. Although, I don't really like to say that being a mommy interrupts my reading. I definitely prefer spending time with my kids and my husband more than reading. And it is much more important to me. Reading is definitely second. But if we count being mommy as my 'job' then my answer would be Crocheting. It's not easy having two hobbies with very limited free time haha. But Crocheting is my other favorite thing to do. And sometimes that takes away from my reading time. In my free time I'm usually lost in a book, or using my hooks :). Other times I'm playing games with my husband.

  3. I think being a sahm is THE biggest job! And I spend a lot of time knitting since I'm a new knitter.

    1. I agree :) I used to knitted for years. But since I learned to crochet I don't know if I will ever go back. Crocheting just seems so much easier.

  4. Yea... I did crochet for a while, but reading won out. Also, you may try audiobooks instead of e-books or print. They let you crochet easily!

    1. I find myself in a mind battle all the time. crohet or read? crochet or read? haha. I've actually been thinking of trying audio books, but I wondered if it would be hard to listen and count stitches at the same time? Have you tried it?
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your MM with me :)

  5. Being a stay-at-home mom is definitely a big job! Plus, just living everyday takes time away from reading.

    1. The biggest job if you ask me haha, 3 kids and a house and a husband (who's really just a big kid lol) is a lot to take care of! Leaves little time for taking care of yourself and your own desires. But it's worth it <3 :)

    1. Thanks so much :). I have 3 hobbies and I usually find one is getting way more attention than the others. I feel I should designate nights of the week to certain things haha. But that is probably harder than it sounds as well.
